Thursday December 13, the Jarl Hjalmarson Foundation in cooperation with the turkish think-tank Association for Liberal Thinking and the National Independence Party of Azerbaijan organize a conference in Istnabul on the challenges in the region. The conference will cover subjects as the transition to liberal democracy. how to oppose authoritarianism and promoting open societies. Constitutional issues and how to cope with history will also be discussed.

The participants will be politicians, academicians, activists and journalists from Turkey, Azerbaijan and Sweden.

October 6-7, the Jarl Hjalmarson Foundation and the National Independence Party of Azerbaijan (NIPA) arrange a conference for the party’s youth.

The conference will focus on two major issues; how one can use social media to influence politics and a political party can promote the young politicians influence and leadership.

Two Swedes will participate at the conference, Mrs. Alexandra Anstrell, chairman of the childcare and education committee in Haninge municipality and Mr. Sebastian Tham, press secretary for the Moderate party in Stockholm County Council.

On October 5, the Jarl Hjalmarson Foundation and the National Independence Party of Azerbaijan (NIPA) arrange a one day conference in Baku for the party’s local and regional chairmen.

The conference will focus on how to organize a political party on a local and regional level, how to recruit and involve new members and how to reach out to the voters.
