Thursday, October 13, the Jarl Hjalmarson Foundation hosted a lunch seminar on the Georgian parliamentary elections that took place on October 8th. Thornike Gordadze, Senior Advisor for Education, Research and Studies at the French Institut des Hautes Études de Défense Nationale (IHEDN) and Former State Minister for Euro-Atlantic Integration of Georgia described the elections and the results. He talked about the previous terms of office, parties and coalitions, the election campaign, the polarized political climate and the economic conditions in the country. Afterwards there was time for questions. The seminar was moderated by Diana Janse, Senior Foreign Policy Advisor of the Moderate Party.
