Well-attended conference on the developments in Russia

Thursday, November 19, the Jarl Hjalmarson Foundation arranged the conference Russia’s Direction – Putin’s Objectives & the European Response. The conference was well attended and received high rating from the participants.

The first part of the conference focused on Vladimir Putin’s geopolitical objectives and its consequences. The panel included Olga Shorina, Executive Director, the Boris Nemtsov Foundation, Stephen Nix, Regional Director, the International Republican Institute and Olof Ehrenkrona, Consul General to the Åland islands.

The second part of the conference focused on the sanctions and the European response. The panel included Ilya Yashin, Deputy Chairman, PARNAS, Gerald Knaus, Chairman, the European Stability Initiative and Ambassador Diana Janse, Senior Foreign Policy Advisor, Moderate Party.
Both panels were moderated by Göran Lennmarker, Chairman of the Jarl Hjalmarson Foundation.

Each member of the panels held their presentations, followed by a discussion and afterwards there was time for questions from the conference participants.
