November 11-18, the Jarl Hjalmarson Foundation organised two conferences on ideology for political active youth from the Eastern Neighbourhood. The conferences were held in Nynäshamn, south of Stockholm. Topics at the conference treated the principles from our book Principles for a Free Society by Dr Nigel Ashford.
Invited were youth politicians from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Georgia, Macedonia, Moldova and Sweden. Discussions on ideology were interspersed with different workshops in order for the participants to be able to interact with each other and to discuss each topic from an ideological perspective. European Integration and Foreign Policy of the Eastern Partnership were also discussed.
The Jarl Hjalmarson Foundation hosts a couple of times each year ideology conferences in Sweden based on the Principles for a Free Society by Dr Nigel Ashford from the Institute of Human Studies at the George Mason University in Washington D.C. The conferences aim to strengthen the ideological base among the participants with emphasis on and understanding of democracy, human rights and market economy.
