March 11-18, Jarl Hjalmarson Foundation hosted two conferences for youth politicians from Eastern Europe and Sweden, on the principles for a free society together with Nigel Ashford from Institute for Humane Studies at George Mason University. Basic concepts for a liberal democracy, as private property, free enterprise and toleration where among the issues discussed.
The first conference gathered youth politicians from centre-right parties on the Balkans as well as a number of prominent guest speakers, as Thomas Gür, writer and CEO, the MPs Cecilia Brinck and Fredrik Schulte, Mayor Fredrik Saweståhl from Tyresö municipality as well as Fredrik Johansson from Stockholm Chamber of Commerce.
At the second conference, youth members of centre-right parties from the Eastern Partnership-countries met to discuss the principles. Göran Lennmarker, chairman of the Jarl Hjalmarson Foundation, Patrik Strömer from Kreab Gavin Anderson, Alexandra Anstrell, chairman of the preschool committee in Haninge municipality, Clara Wahren from Stockholm County Council and Evelina Lorentzon, economist and risk analyst participated as guest lecturers at the conference.
