March 21 – 23, Jarl Hjalmarson Foundation hosted a conference for active political youth from SDA in cooperation with SDA Academy in Vogošća, Bosnia and Hercegovina. Almost twenty years after the Dayton Agreement, Bosnia and Herzegovina still stands before great challenges of which a deeper integration with the West is one of them.
The topic of the conference was “EU and political branding”. The seminars focused mainly on Bosnian-European integration and on the great challenges of a unified Bosnia to become a modern European state. Ms Clara Wahren held lectures on the basic principles of the European Union, with personal experiences from her period as former chief of staff for the Moderate party in Brussels. The seminars on political branding were chaired by Mr Jørn Haukøy, entrepreneur and consultant from Norway with great experience from the political sphere and brand building.
The conference was also visited by Mr Osman Topčagić, former head of Permanent Mission of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the EU, who held a keynote speech on Bosnia’s future role in the EU, and Mr Senad Šepić, MP of the Bosnian parliament.
