March 8-10, the third Regional Women’s Round Table Conference was organised by the Jarl Hjalmarson Foundation. This time in cooperation with the Croatian party HDZ and IWDU. The conference was held in springtime Zagreb, and the participants were female politicians from our cooperation parties in the region.
The Swedish delegation consisted of the congresswomen Jessica Polfjärd, Margareta Cederfeldt and Cecilia Brink. Delegates from the IWDU were Azalia Aviles from Nicaragua, Natalia Mchedlishvili from Georgia and Hristina Runceva from Macedonia.
The conference started off with an inspiring speech by Marija Boban, the chair of the women’s organization in the party HDZ. After that followed three sessions during the two days. Since Croatia will become a member of EU the first of July this year one of the sessions was about what experiences Croatia could share. What can we learn about their journey towards an EU- membership? The following two sessions handled subjects as international cooperation and social questions.
