Cuba is a centralized, planned economy and communist one-party state where no other parties are permitted. After Fidel Castro’s illness in 2008, hope of reform was spread, but the small changes that have occurred since then are merely symbolic actions without any real value.
On March 19, the Jarl Hjalmarson Foundation organises a luncheon in Stockholm with John Suarez, international secretary for Cuban Democratic Directorate, who will give his views on the developments in the country. In conjunction with the seminar, the Foundation will launch a new website about the developments in Cuba.
The seminar will be held in English.
