On 11 -13 of May Jarl Hjalmarson Foundation arranged a conference in Sarajevo in co-operation with PDP, one of the two Bosnian parties that the foundation works with. The participants were young candidates and campaign managers and the focus was on preparing for the local elections in October. The speaker was Oscar Öholm, MP, Kristoffer Tamsons, senior consultant at Hallvarsson & Halvarsson and Sebastian Tham, press secretary.
The Saturday began with two lectures on the basics of campaigning and how to build a political brand. During the afternoon the young candidates had a workshop in rhetoric, directed by Kristoffer Tamsons. Meanwhile, the campaign managers had a workshop on how to plan an election campaign. This workshop was led by Oskar Öholm and Sebastian Tham.
During Sunday morning Oskar Öholm, former general secretary of the Moderate Party Youth League, held a session on the importance of a strong Youth League. Meanwhile Sebastian Tham had an exercise in how to use and handle the media. The conference ended with Branislav Borenović, vice president of PDP, who spoke about important questions for the upcoming election.
